These days, Deia is the haunt of the wealthy and famous, but it has lost none of its native charm.

Land of the Goddess
Just back from Deia, Mallorca, a very special place. It was discovered by hippy artists, musicians and writers in the 1950s and 60s who soon formed a colony there. Not only is it a very beautiful village, tucked in between the mountains next to the sea, but some like to think of it as a haunt of the Goddess. In the surrounding landscape they see the great thighs of the Goddess outspread, exposing her private parts. This legend is given weight by the fact that Robert Graves wrote his work, The White Goddess, while living in Deia.
