How on earth did we authors manage before the Internet? Research is so easy nowadays. But recently I tried a new (for me) amazing tool: Google Street View.
The hero and heroine of my latest romance - The Devil Plays Cupid - took a walk through the streets of San Francisco. And so did I! Amazingly I could see what they saw, explore the sights, follow their journey, change the route at will. Fantastic!
In fact, when my brother rang in the middle of it all I answered, 'I'm in San Francisco!' Took him by completely by surprise until I explained.
In real life I have visited that wonderful city several times, so I'm not relying wholly on Google. But memory can play you false, and this is a great way to really LIVE the experience as you're writing.
